Join our professional artist facilitators for fun and hands on sessions which develop your students’ drawing skills to take their art to the next level.  All our workshops take place onsite at Orleans House Gallery and use our collections, exhibitions and site as a basis for inspiration.

There are two sessions available:  

  • Mark Making  

How can mark making develop your skills as an artist?  In this workshop, students will work with an artist to explore different marks that we can make with a variety of materials before taking inspiration from our collections and exhibitions to create their own drawing.  

Suitable for Key Stages 1 and 2. This session can be adapted for Early Years and Key Stage 3.

  • Drawing with Wire 

Learn about using line drawing to create a 3D design. Working with an artist, students will explore line drawing before using wire to create their own 3D drawing.
Suitable for Key Stage 2-3. This can be adapted for higher key stages.  

All workshops support the following curriculum Links: 

  • Art and Design: develop techniques, learn about a range of artists, improve the mastery of art and design techniques, to use drawing and sculpture.  
  • Literacy: develop understanding, discussion and sharing ideas.  

Availability: Sessions run weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am-12pm and 12.30-2.30pm.  

Duration: Workshops are 2 hours in length.  Reception group sessions are 90 minutes. 

Booking details: 

All workshops are £75 per session for up to 30 students. Please enquire for rates for SEND or PRU groups.

Educational Visits enquiry forms should be completed at least four weeks in advance of the session. We will be in touch to confirm the activity and will send you a session agreement. This must be returned at least two weeks before the visit.   

For all visits please be aware that there may be members of the public in the building at the same time.  

Cancellation Policy:

We will endeavour to reschedule sessions where possible. Cancellations less than one week in advance will still be charged the full fee. If cancellations are due to a change in Government policy in relation to the trip, you will not be charged.
